SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Mobley saved a fierce shot from Town's Jones and was frequently in action as Coleshill took control. At the opposite end, a free kick from the right by Wyatt scraped the bar. But Mile Oak were first to go close in the second half, and from a corner Hollins, in the Coleshill goal, made a good save under pressure. A long ball from Tempest split the Mile Oak defence and from his own half, Calvert controlled the ball, beating two defenders, only to see his shot saved at the second attempt by Mobley.

THE CHELMSLEY NEWS WROTE
Town Need Extra Punch Up Front

Injury hit Coleshill were guilty of several missed chances as their lean patch continued with this goalless draw at Pack Meadow. Town manager Colin Holder, who was yet again without four of his first team regulars through injury, was dealt a severe blow just before kick off when leading goalscorer Bob Dyer announced he would have to give up playing football. Dyer, who had been Coleshill's most consistent player this season, is being forced to quit the game due to a skull injury he sustained in Sunday soccer. However, Coleshill - who have sorely missed Dyer's talents up front on recent weeks - were soon on the attack against Mile Oak. They had a great opportunity to open the scoring in the 10th minute when a right wing cross from Tipton was met on the half volley by Hanson but his shot was scrambled to safety by Mile Oak keeper Mobley. From the resultant corner, John Gardner headed wide. Mile Oak had obviously come for a point and Coleshill were having difficulty in breaking through their defensive barrier. What chances there were in the first half fell to Coleshill forwards, who were not as sharp as they should have been in front of goal. Mile Oak went close shortly after the interval, when Coleshill keeper Hollins brought off a fine save under pressure following a corner. Coleshill came more into the game with Hanson making some determined runs in an attempt to open up the Mile Oak back four. Jones then sent Burrows away for Town but he fired wide from 25 yards out. It was Jones who sent over a free kick to the far post where Tempest clipped the crossbar with a bullet like header. Mile Oak, who rarely troubled the Coleshill defence, were quite happy to boot the ball anywhere in the last 10 minutes as the home side continued to dominate. Town should have sealed the issue when Calvert was denied a clean shot as the ball took an awkward bounce after he had been put through by Bishop. After the game Holder recognised his team's lack of punch in front of goal when he said "It's a point dropped for us." The Coleshill boss was more optimistic though when he added: "We are still without four first team players and I am sure that when they fit we will get back to how we were playing before Christmas." Steve Pollack and Barrie Canning played for the Reserve team making come backs after being out through injury. This Saturday Coleshill are away to Hurley Daw Mill.
