THE SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Northfield slammed home three goals in the first 15 minutes to demoralise the Coleshill defence. For the first goal Northfield’s Pedley gathered a loose ball, turned and fired over a packed goalmouth and into the net despite Hollins desperate effort to save. Northfield increased their lead three minutes later when Kirnon fired a loose ball from an acute angle and Ormsby turned the ball into the net under pressure. Northfield went further ahead two minutes later with another Kirnon - Ormsby move, Kirnon gathered the ball, rounded a a defender and fired in another low cross for Ormsby to turn the ball past the outstretched fingers of Hollins. Northfield’s keeper Collins was on the alert to save from two free kicks as Coleshill fought to get back into the game. In the 33rd minute Larry Clarke outmanoeuvred several Coleshill players to make an accurate cross, Tony Ormsby outpaced the Coleshill defence to hit a fierce first time shot into the net and complete his hat trick.

THE SPORTS ARGUS LATER WROTE
Coleshill Town received another thrashing, after crashing 9-0 they followed that up by losing 6-2 at Northfield. The game was a personal triumph for Tony Ormsby, he was on his best form and scored four of his sides six goals, Lesley and Barker added the remaining two. Consolation goals for Coleshill came via Polack and Ford.

Ormsby Smashes Four In Northfield Rout

Northfield Town's leading scorer, Tony Ormsby, scored four times in their runaway victory over Coleshill Town. An early rush saw Northfield take a three goal lead in the first 15 minutes as Pedley, then Ormsby, twice, scored. Ormsby went on to complete his hat trick in the 33rd minute. In a more even second half both sides scored twice. Coleshill's Polack reduced the arrears shortly after the interval before Barker increased Northfield's lead from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute. In the closing stages Ormsby scored yet again and Ford hit a late goal for Coleshill.
