A much improved performance from Mile Oak saw them chalk up their first win of the season on Tuesday evening, beating local rivals Coleshill Town 2-1 at Pack Meadow. All the goals came in the first half but Oak, with little more steadiness in front of goal, could so easily have doubled their score for they had 75 per cent of the play. Oak's first goal came out of the blue after just two minutes, when Roger Taylor was put through a square defence. He drew the keeper before sliding the ball under his body. Coleshill's equaliser came with a tremendous drive by Ian Shakespeare, who's shot screamed into the roof of the net from fully 35 yards. But their joy was short lived as Tony Watts restored Oak's lead following a corner. Oak piled on the pressure in the second half, but couldn't add to their total.
