TAMWORTH HERALD
Super Polesworth Hand Out Thrashing

Polesworth North Warwick produced one of their best performances of recent seasons to thrash Midland Combination Premier Division outfit Coleshill Town in the Combination Challenge Cup at Hermitage Hill. All action Warwick nearly went in front as early as the second minute when Kevin Bradford's in-swinging corner thudded against the post and it was Bradford again causing problems in the eighth minute when keeper Collins brilliantly saved his fierce shot. But Polesworth's industry was rewarded in the 20th minute when Alan Jones beat the Coleshill off-side trap and slotted the ball home. A minute later Polesworth were pegged back when slack marking allowed Pollack to drill home a volley. But ten minutes before the interval Polesworth went back in front when a Bradford corner was only partially cleared and Jones forced the ball over the line. Polesworth continued to push forward after the break and it was no surprise when Steve Ketland found himself with only the keeper to beat and coolly rolled the ball home after rounding Collins. Kevin Bradford scored the fourth and his third goal in as many games, eight minutes from time when he received a fine pass from Gary Shakespeare, rounded the Coleshill sweeper, and crashed the ball into the roof of the net. This result lifted Warwick after a disappointing start to the league campaign and Manager Eamon Hickey is looking for another Premier Division club at home in the next round.
