SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Southam kicked off with ten men and Coleshill took advantage by making all the early running. A dreadful mistake by Spacey let in Coleshill’s lively Ashman and he got behind the Southam defence and sent over a dangerous cross which was scrambled away. Moments later Ashman again caused danger when he broke through the Southam defence and laid on a glorious chance for Dyer, only to be denied by some brilliant defending from Southam’s Roger Constable. Coleshill continued to force the pace and Southam goalkeeper King was forced to make a tremendous diving save from the dangerous Ashman, turning a low drive round the post for a corner.Coleshill continued to have much the better play but were unable to penetrate a resilient Southam defence. Both goalkeepers looked capable of dealing with anything that either set of forwards could throw at them. Their task was made easier as the final pass continually went astray in what proved to be a poor first half.
Half Time: Southam 0 - 0 Coleshill
