STRATFORD UPON AVON HERALD WROTE
Town Lose It In The Second Half

Stratford Town dropped two valuable Home points on Saturday when, after controlling the play for an hour, they allowed Coleshill back into the game to equalise against the run of play. Coleshill then quickly followed up with the winner. It was a frustrating display because during the first half Stratford held the advantage of the play and their goal had only been threatened on two occasions when a misplaced back pass had to be scrambled away. After 25 minutes Ashman broke through and only a fine save by Walton prevented him scoring. For most of the half Stratford had played some good football. Agit Braich hit the ball wide following a move involving Ness Kelly and in the best move of the game Simon Brain played a series of one-two's and then sent Kelly clear on the right. His hard low cross was fired home by Jimmy Whitehouse but he was adjudged to be off side. Stratford continued to press but could not find the breakthrough they needed before half time. In the second half Stratford gradually increased their pressure and after 50 minutes they deservedly took the lead. A Stratford attack found Agit Braich just outside the penalty area. He fired in a fine right foot shot which was parried by Civil, Jimmy Whitehouse calmly fired home the rebound. Stratford looked almost certain to increase their lead two minutes later when Whitehouse broke clear, rounded Coleshill's goalkeeper but his right foot shot hit the inside of the post and bounced clear. In the next minute only a brilliant save by Civil prevented Reid scoring when his curling left foot shot looked to be a goal all the way. Stratford were now attacking with regularity and only a foul prevented Osborne breaking through. After 62 minutes Stratford were caught on the break and Coleshill equalised. Ashman broke away down the left and crossed for Allen to score. Stratford attempted to reply but the equaliser had clearly taken the wind out of their sails and Ashman was becoming a constant threat for Coleshill. After 78 minutes Coleshill snatched the lead when, following a corner, Bishop fired in a shot which squeezed between Walton and Osborne on the goal line. In the final seconds Stratford had a glorious chance to at least salvage a point. Ness Kelly played some brilliant football on the right before crossing perfectly into the goalmouth, Jimmy Whitehouse rose and headed the ball but it went wide from only a few yards.
