For the visit of Coleshill Town in the Southern League Challenge Cup, Greene made a few changes to the side that suffered late defeat to the hands of Royston Town with Dan Jezeph making his first start in the first team since the last game of the 2017-18 season Keegan Townrow making his debut and Aman Verma returning from illness.
The two teams had only previously met in the Birmingham Senior Cup which had not been classed as a first team fixture at the time, so this was the first competitive meeting between the two sides and The Lambs first ever on line (only) programme was available for the game.
Coleshill started proceedings with The Lambs attacking the Meadow Street end but it was the visitors who had the first chance with Washbourne lifting a curling shot over the bar on 3.
A strong run from Waite drilled the ball into the box on 5 but neither Lait nor Beswick were able to finish it. A Coleshill corner on the right was cleared on 8 and on 12 Washbourne tried his luck from the left wing but lifted his shot high and wide of the right hand post.
After a prolonged period of huff and puff but no end product Washbourne came close to opening the scoreline after advancing on to the edge of the box but fired wide of the mark and then on 32 Waite prodded a low shot from a similar position but it was easy for Jezeph.
A threaded pass from Moore to Waite saw the latter’s shot defected behind by Hathaway on 37 and the first corner was cleared for another before the second corner was cleared away from danger.
Waite drilled it to Dunkley on 43 but it was stopped by Deakin and it his deflected stop nearly beat Hathaway but the keeper prevented the own goal, and then the keeper performed again to deny a close range finish from Waite as the ball stayed in the final third.
One minute added time was shown at the end of the first half and a chipped cross from the left from Beswick was met by the head of Waite, but he directed it just a yard past the far post with the keeper beaten before the whistle blew to end the half goalless.
HT: Tamworth 0 0 Coleshill Town
The Lambs made two changes at the break before restarting the game and on 51, Lait got through down the left and pulled it back for Waite, but his shot rose over the target.
Molesworth struck low and forced a good stop from Jezeph shortly afterwards and The Lambs countered resulting in a Waite strike which Hathaway parried away.
Another effort from Waite forced a parried stop from Hathaway on 55 and from the corner the ball came out to Wright on the left who floated it into the middle for Dunkley to cushion a well placed header into the corner, past Hathaway, from 6 yards out (1-0, 55 mins)
Dunkley went shoulder to shoulder down the Coleshill left wing on 67 and picked up a booking for his efforts and Smith fired in the freekick which was cleared.
On 72 the scored were level though when a left sided corner was only half cleared and fell to Washbourne in the left of the area and he struck it cleanly into the top right corner to level the cup tie (1-1, 72 mins)
Nathan Waite and Smith both forced Jezeph to protect his goal with low strikes from close range on 74.
The referee waved away a penalty claim against The Lambs on 78 when a slip allowed Nathan Waite to zip through the back line only to find Townrow in his way.
The game continued with little in the way of chances at either end and three minutes added time was shown. From a Lambs attack, Coleshill forced a left sided corner and it was eventually cleared for the whistle to blow.

Penalties followed and Coleshill progressed 6-5 after eight kicks each.
1: Molesworth Y, Finn wide
2: Halshall wide, Lait saved
3: Hathaway Y, Asante Y
4: Doyle Y, Dunkley Y
5: Smith hit post, Verma Y (3-3 after 5 each)
6: Fellows Y, Jemson Y (4-4)
7: Deakin Y, Waite Y (5-5)
8: Dainty Y, Townrow saved (6-5)
