Coleshill boss Casey left to bemoan second half 'shocker'
Writes the Coleshill Herald
COLESHILL Town boss Paul Casey reflected on his side's 6-4 defeat at Loughborough University on Saturday and admitted: "It was a shocker."
The Midland Alliance high-fliers threw away a 3-1 half time lead as they slumped to a dismal away defeat.
It was the worst possible build-up to their massive FA Vase test against Dunston UTS this weekend.
And Casey said: "I have never been involved in a game like it to be honest with you.
"We were 3-1 up at half time and that should have been 4-0.
"We have had a perfectly good goal disallowed and our keeper has made a mistake as well.
"The second half was crazy though. We have ended up losing 6-4 and it could have been 8-4!
"We have had a mad 25 minutes or so and it was embarrassing really. We were a total shambles.
"We have been let down by bad goalkeeping mistakes and dismal defending all round.
"Our defending has really let us down for the first time this season.
"Maybe one or two of the players have been getting caught up in their own hype," he added.
"That's disappointing. We had a chance to put ourselves within a point of Boldmere in fourth place in the Alliance but produced a second half performance like that.
"I will be looking for a response from the players and there's no better game for them to do so than a huge FA Vase game."
