Bolehall, Coleshill and Adders friendlies bring a mixed set of scores
Writes the Coleshill Herald

Bolehall Swifts: Bolehall enjoyed a testing pre-season workout as they were beaten 3-2 by Continental Star at Rene Road on Saturday.

Swifts opened the scoring with a strike from Dave Yonwin before Star equalised.

Dave Haywood's men regained the lead when a Yonwin corner was met powerfully by Joe Obi, who headed home.

Tom McNulty pulled off a couple of superb saves to keep Swifts on top.

In the second half, Swifts created plenty of chances but conceded two goals as Star ran out 3-2 winners.

Atherstone Town: The Adders had to settle for a draw in their clash with Coventry United.

Lee Smith's first half strike looked to have secured the victory at Sheepy Road before the Adders were pegged back late on.

In what was the proverbial game of two halves for the home side, Atherstone should have been out of sight by the break.

As it was, they only had a 25-yard strike from Smith to show for their efforts.

The second half saw an indifferent Town performance, which culminated in a deserved Coventry United equaliser with three minutes left on the clock.

Teenage defender Ash Gray was named the supporters man of the match after marshalling the defence superbly.

Coleshill Town FC: Coleshill suffered their first defeat of the pre-season campaign as they slipped to a 4-2 defeat against Thurnby Nirvana.

Town took the lead through Matt Gasper and looked much the better side but the Leicester outfit levelled the score before the break with a penalty.

Coleshill had chance after chance to take the lead but some poor finishing and an inspired performance by the visitors keeper kept the ball out of the net.

Nirvana took advantage, making the most of the chances that came their way and suddenly found themselves 4-1 up.

Eighteen-year-old Simeon Coburn then came on as sub and scored a fine solo goal for Coleshill.

Austrey Rangers: Goals from Reece Hodgetts, James Bloore, Jack Cross and Mark Latham helped Austrey register a 4-1 victory over Heather St John last weekend.
