COLESHILL Town boss Paul Casey says his side need a break to recharge their batteries after a gruelling start to the campaign.

The Colemen came through two testing FA Cup clashes with Bromsgrove Sporting this week, winning Tuesday night's replay in extra time to set up a first qualifying round clash with Barwell.

They are without a game this Saturday and Casey couldn't be happier.

"We have had nine games in 30 days so it's been pretty tough," he said. "And, having to have the extra time against Bromsgrove on Tuesday has been a real drain on the lads.

"It was emotionally tough – I didn't get to sleep until 4am as I was buzzing!

"So I think it will do us good to have a weekend off now and take stock.

"It's been a great start to the season for us. We have lost just one of those nine games played so far and so we have got to be happy.

"I'm excited by what we have achieved to date and feel there's more to come."

Casey's confidence that his side can only improve comes as he prepares to welcome back key players from injury and holidays.

"Against Bromsgrove on Tuesday, we had two midfielders – Oliver Casey and Barry Fitzharris – playing at full-back.

"But we will be able to welcome Daryl Jones, Ashley Bradshaw and Leon Weller back this week.

"And we have also signed (defender) Dave Stewart from Continental Star.

"So we have full back options again and the other lads can slot back into midfield and refresh that.

"It will give us more options as we aim to build on the positive start that we have made."

Coleshill have, however, allowed two players to leave with Dean Withers joining Lichfield City and Luke Shorthouse heading to Nuneaton Griff.
