SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Douglas for Alcester Town had the first clear cut chance but failed to capitalise in a one-on-one with the Coleshill goalkeeper. In the 22nd minute, Mark Hart's long clearance beat the whole of the Alcester defence and Cockerill slotted home. Coleshill kept up the pressure and had most of the first half play and in the 36th minute a great exchange between Hopkins and Cockerill led to Hopkins scoring his first goal for Coleshill to make the half time score 2-0.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
After 22 minutes a long clearance by Hart evaded all of the Alcester defence and Cockerill fired past the advancing goalkeeper to open Coleshill's account. A brilliant one-two on the left side of the field between Hopkins and Cockerill saw Hopkins take the return and make no mistake for his first goal for Coleshill. In the second half Alcester opened brightly and had two chances cleared off the line in the first two minutes. Fox dragged Alcester back into the game after 80 minutes when he forced the ball home from one of many corners.
