SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Coleshill held the upper hand in this very lively first half encounter. Their first chance came when Whipps put Bailey away after 15 minutes. He eluded two defenders but saw his shot just miss the far post. After this Coleshill started to apply the pressure and Clayton, in the visitors goal, was kept very busy. Armitage should have taken the lead on 43 minutes but Brown shot wide with only the keeper to beat. Coleshill got their just reward a minute from half time when Bodfish converted Rosborough's low cross.
Half Time Coleshill 1 v 0 Armitage.
SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Coleshill thoroughly deserved their win over top of the League Armitage. Brown should have given the visitors the lead on 43 minutes but he fired wide with the goal at his mercy. Coleshill deservedly took the lead on the stroke of half time when Bodfish fired home. The pace surprisingly kept up in the second half with Coleshill always looking likely to increase the lead.
