SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Stapenhill opened the brighter and Mable continued to torment down the left flank. Mable had two shots and two good crosses to O'Hare and Sharp, which should have seen Stapenhill take the lead, but these were missed. Coleshill continued to defend under pressure and keeper Chapman had to gather two crosses, although under no pressure. Coleshill relied on the quick break, and from one of these Wilson crossed, only for Amory to head over. Coleshill hit Stapenhill in the 38th minute, when the defence stood off which allowed Murphy to cross for Hopkins who shot under keeper Bolton.
Half Time Stapenhill 0 v 1 Coleshill.
SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
On a pitch more suited to water polo, Stapenhill opened the brighter and Paul Mable tormented down the left. But Coleshill hit Stapenhill in the 38th minute when the defence stood off and allowed Murphy to cross to Hopkins who shot under keeper Bolton's body. The second half saw Stapenhill press for an equaliser but Coleshill held out until the 89th minute when Pitt met a Warren free kick to head over the advancing keeper Chapman and bring the teams level.
