WE MEET AGAIN - Pilkington XXX

Coleshill travel to the Triplex Sports Ground this saturday to take on Pilkington in the F.A. Vase, the third team Coleshill have faced this season from the Midland Combination Premier in FA competitions.

The ground is usually a happy hunting place for Town, and Danny Carter in particular, and will go down in the history books as the place that finally confirmed Coleshill as Champions of the Mid Com Prem although that game was against tenants Cadbury Athletic.

Pilkington are currently managed by former Town manager and all round good bloke, Mick Beadle. Connections also include strikers Michael Campbell and Shay Morgan who have both hit the back of the net for XXX this year.

So far this season Pilkington have lost only once in the league, that to Dosthill Colts on the opening day, and have had fine wins over Continental Star, Nuneaton Griff and Pelsall Villa as well as a draw with Bolehall Swifts which gives them a record of P5 W3 D1 L1 F17 A12 Pts 10 and are currently 3rd in the Mid Com Prem. In the F.A Cup XXX beat fellow Allaince team Rocester and then had a bye in the Pre-lim when Bromsgrove Rovers pulled out. They are now due to play Evo Stick Division One South outfit Market Drayton Town in the 1st qualifying round saturday 11th September. Market Drayton won the Alliance by a street the year before last but currently lie third bottom of their league without a point so far.

Pilkington were promoted to the Mid Com Premier for the start of 2004/05 season from Div 1 and it is only from that point that Coleshill and XXX began to meet on a regular basis.
