Alvechurch took advantage (Shirley and Studley drew 1-1) and extended their lead at the top with a 3-0 win over Coleshill Town. Wade Nicholls bagged two goals for the Lye Meadow side, Andy Horne adding the third, all coming in the first half.

THE COLESHILL CHRONICLE WROTE
It has been many years since Coleshill figured in the rounds of the Birmingham Junior Cup and in meeting Glascote last saturday, at Glascote, Coleshill were really in the dark as to the ability of their opponents, save that they were taking the field with an unbeaten record. When the teams faced each other Coleshill started the ball rolling down the slope before a fair muster of eager supporters and it was not long before Coleshill showed their superiority by Lewis scocing a grand goal. The Glascote brigade tried desperatley to get on even terms but Shaw with his headwork was hard to beat and several times cleared at a critical moment. Then Coleshill got away in a line and the balll coming to Wright, the latter worked a good opening and finished by scoring a beautiful goal. Just before the interval Wright scored again, and at half time Coleshill were leading by three goals to nil.
On resuming, the home supporters thought their favourites would give a better show when playing down hill and the game certainly became a little more of an even character for a time. Then Lilley and Wright made ground along the right and the latter centred nicely across, Lewis finished a splendid piece of work by shooting a capital goal. This roused the homesters and they forced a corner. It was beautifully placed right under the bar. The Coleshill custodian caught the ball badly and in attempting to throw away it slipped out of his hand and into the net. This had the effect of giving a little more life to the game but Coleshill were soon having it all their own way again, Watkins scored a brilliant goal, giving Glascote custodian no chance. The homesters were outplayed alltogether. Wright helped himself to another goal and just before the finish Lewis scored again with a grand shot. A one sided game ended: Coleshill 7 Glascote Working Men's Club 1.

It was not a match to get over-excited about. Coleshill held the upper hand from start to finish. All gave a capital display and if there was one who impressed the spectators more than the others , it was Clive, for his neat footwork was greatly admired, even by our opponents. The Glascote boys are a very hard-working, bustly team, but only that.
Today (Saturday) Coleshill journey to Birmingham to meet Witton Athletic in a league game. This match should test th "Rabbits" severely. We shall have a good team on the field, with the exception of Shaw who cannot turn out, and Sullivan will make his re-appearance.

That the Coleshill Football Club added another win to their record on Saturday last.
That they are top of the league table with the splendid goal average of 24 against 8.
That on October 22nd they play Ammington Rovers at Coleshill in the Tamworth Nursing Cup.
That on October 29th Coleshill journey to Atherstone to meet the Amateurs of that town in the Wilnecote Cup.
That in the 2nd Round of the Fazely Cup they meet Dosthill at Coleshill.
That for the Coleshill Charity Cup they will not be required till January 28th.
That it is to be hoped Sullivan can play regularly now and then the forward line should make things "Hum" a bit.
That the Coleshill Football Club hold their Annual dinner on Thursday October 27th at the Swan Hotel.
That The Coleshill Charity Cup and the Tamworth Nursing Cup will be on view.
That it is hoped the stand will have to be enlarged at the end of this season.
