WE MEET AGAIN – AFC WULFRUNIANS

AFC Wulfrunians were established in 2005, although it is an offshoot of the Old Wulfrunians club, which has existed since 1922. Coleshill had never met either the current or old club until this season (as far as I am aware) due to the Wulfs promotion from the West Midlands Premier to the Alliance. Town’s first ever visit to the impressive Castlecroft Stadium back in December ended in a fine 2-1 win with goals from Ryan Nash and Jaz Luckie and came in the middle of a five game winning streak that catapulted Coleshill up the league table. Wulfs are having a really good first season with 17 wins from their 37 games so far and lie in a creditable 9th place with 59 points.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Coleshill up to sixth with midweek win

COLESHILL kept up their winning ways after taking all the points in a hard-fought victory in midweek.

The Coleman, fresh from their Vase triumph on Saturday, were on a high from the off and took the three points that moved them up to sixth place in the table.

Ryan Nash gave the visitors the lead in the 35th minute before Nathan Rose-Laing equalised eight minutes later.

Coleshill always looked like retaking the lead in the second-half, though, as they dominated proceedings.

It took until the 73rd minute for them to make that domination count, though, as chances came and were spurned for the visiting side.

Jaz Luckie had no intention of spurning his chance as with 17 minutes to go he slotted home what proved to be the decisive goal on the night.
