SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
A fast and exciting game with little to choose between the sides apart from Town’s lack of finishing skills. The best of the earlier chances fell to Coleshill with Taylor’s appeals for a penalty turned down by the referee. In the 24th minute Shaw fired just over for Sandwell after being put through by Haddock. Granger also went close before Shaw hit the Coleshill crossbar with a looping header. The only goal of the game came two minutes after the interval. It came following a run down the right by Brown before he pushed the ball to Rhodes on the edge of the box and his cross was headed home by Shaw.
SPORTS ARGUS WROTE

Half Time: Coleshill 0 v 0 Sandwell
COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Coleshill spent most of the first half under pressure mainly from the Sandwell forward Shaw. After 24 minutes he latched on to a through ball from Haddock but fired his shot just over the bar. And on the half hour Grainger also saw his shot miss the target for the visitors. Coleshill were lucky not to be a goal down at the interval when Shaw's header hit the home side's crossbar and deny Sandwell the lead. However, a solitary second half goal was all that Sandwell needed to take home three points to keep them in contention near the top of the league.
