SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Another Coleshill draw belies the supremacy the home side demonstrated. Such was the home's sides dominance, Northfield forced their only corner of the first half on 42 minutes. Even allowing for the fact that Coleshill pressed the self-destruct button when allowing Bates to open the scoring for Northfield after 21 minutes. Northfield's keeper Strong's only mistake of the game came when Bailey beat him to the ball to slide in Coleshill's equaliser.
SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
After a bright start, Coleshill pressed the self destruct button allowing Bates to open the scoring for Northfield. In the early minutes Bennett (E) was the villain and nearly the hero for Northfield. He lost possession in midfield and Bailey nearly scored for Coleshill, while at the other end he hit a post when his miss-hit cross deceived keeper Hart. Coleshill made all the running during the first half, with Coleman, Bailey and Burroughs all having efforts well saved by Strong. It was not until the 41st minute that Northfield forced their first corner in a relatively uneventful first half, and were fortunate to have the lead.
Half Time: Coleshill 0 v 1 Northfield.
