Coleshill Town Youth Team have done really well both in the cup and the league matches. We were up against Hednesford Town in this league match and we knew we were up against it as they are one of the top teams in the league and we only had a 12 man squad due to injuries and suspensions. The game started off fairly evenly with both sides having chances to gain the lead but Hednesford gained the advantage and scored a good goal during the later part of the first half. When we came out in the second half we didn?t have our heads down and were determined to battle on and play some excellent football. We scored a goal during the first few minutes but unfortunately we it was given as a very dubious off side. Hednesford then had a penalty awarded and although they scored they was told to take it again. At the 2nd attempt they failed to convert with the shot went well over the bar. A few minutes later a penalty was awarded to Coleshill due to an handball. TJ scored from the penalty spot and it was now game on at 1-1.
Both sides were pressing for the winning goal with some excellent football being played. Coleshill had numerous free kicks awarded to then just outsdie the penalty box but were unable to capitalise. The break through came, however, about 15 minutes before full time with an excellent goal from Lee Nash who had come on as substitute at the beginning of the second half in place of Josh Parkes who was injured. The game ended 2-1 with a well deserved win for Coleshill Town. Well done to all.
