F.A. Youth Cup 2nd Round Qualifying
Redditch United 1 v 2 Coleshill Town
After a bruising 1st Qualifying round F.A Youth Cup encounter at Carlton, Coleshill Town Youth were rewarded with an intriguing draw with Redditch United Youth at the Valley Stadium.
With the home advantage Redditch settled first and in the opening minutes tried to assert, forging two early corners which were effectively dealt with by the Coleshill defence.
Town quickly upped the tempo and began to take the game to Redditch. The impressive Danny Tymon skipped clear of his marker to send a stinging low cross in the penalty area, which Coleshill?s Robert Evans connecting with going just wide with his shot.
The next 20 minutes saw Town largely in the ascendancy, which was typified when the silky skills of Justin Grandison were demonstrated to the full. He shrugged off a challenge from the opposing right back, turned, and looped a curling shot towards the Redditch goal, which ?scrapped the paint off? the far right hand post.

After the break the Valley Stadium side started the brighter, almost immediately putting the Town goal under pressure as a low shot flashed past the post for a goal kick.
The second half began to take shape much as the first, as Town again settled and began to put the hosts under pressure.
Town split the Redditch defence with perfect slide rule pass from
Robert Evans, which was struck first time by Marcus McLaren who was unlucky not to hit the target.
Soon Marcus McLaren was back in action again, this time cutting into the penalty area from the right hand side, the subsequent trip from the Redditch defender on McLaren resulting in a penalty.
Danny Tymon confidently stepped up and promptly despatched the penalty to send Town 1 up.
The Redditch response to the Town goal was to send on two substitutes and change to a 3 4 3 formation, which quickly had town on the back foot .For the next ten minutes Redditch pushed forward and were rewarded when a well worked move was finished with a thunderous shot by Dan Gall that beat Ryan Byfield in the Coleshill goal
To the credit of Coleshill Town Youth their response was instant, and they had the upper hand for the last period of the game. In injury time Robert Evans scored a well deserved goal for Town after an excellent cross from the right wing. The goal sent Coleshill Town Youth in to the next round of the cup and the travelling Coleshill fans home happy.
