MATCH REPORT
By Colin Wheatley

The match kicked off at the Coppice in front of a disappointing crowd of 92, wet underfoot and with rain throughout most of the game. Coleshill fielded the same side that defeated Cambridge City on Monday night except for Palmer replacing Rowe (suspended). Both teams started nervously with the away team making all of the play but failing to take the opportunities they created, with the virtually unstoppable Tonge failing to convert a one on one with keeper Carlow.

Following a period of almost total dominance by the Colemen, a yellow card for keeper Carlow for handling outside the box, and three unconverted corner kicks, Joe Philip's fourth corner was headed in by captain Byrne on 29 minutes. Coleshill took a well deserved two goal lead into the break on 37 minutes with a goal from Tonge, slotting home at the second attempt.

With the first half characterised by the Coleshill back four taking every Highgate long ball, the midfield taking control and the home team failing to trouble Hathaway at all, the away support expected more of the same. It wasn't to be though, as The Gate suddenly found their mojo and had the Colemen pinned back for much of the opening 15 minutes of the second half. Following a corner kick the inevitable response was fired home by an unmarked Archer on 59 minutes with Hathaway having no chance.

The away side responded immediately with a goal from close range by Molesworth after excellent work by Tonge during which Molesworth was injured in a very late tackle on the goal line. Molesworth was replaced by Harrison on 65 and he promptly scored number four on 67 minutes after good work by Dainty to seal the victory. Substitutes Washbourne (Philips) on 72 and Burke (Sanhu) on 78 minutes helped see out the remainder of the half and the Colemen go through to the next round as comfortable winners.
