MIKES FALL AS COLESHILL HIT TOP FORM
Coleshill Town inflicted the second defeat of the season on Midland Combination First Division leaders Boldmere St Michaels, claiming a 1-0 victory at Church Road. It was the first time that Coleshill had won at Boldmere and in the words of manager David Kite "they produced a magnificent team effort" that augurs well for the future. Coleshill were inspired by a fine individual porformance from Tom Hardie. The former Prestwich Hayes midfield player skippered Coleshill to new heights, before being forced to leave the field late in the second half to have four stiches in a badly cut leg. Stan Komoroski, who with Johnny Allen also played well in midfield, scored Coleshill's 60th minute winner, following good work by Casey and Montague. It was the first time this season that manager Kite had been able to field a full strength side and on this showing Coleshill could create plenty of shocks as they begin to climb up the table. Mr Kite is having talks this weekend with former Scottish League player John Barnes. A front midfield player, Barnes has not played this season since leaving Dunfermline and it is possible that he will be persuaded to turn out for Coleshill. One departure from Pack Meadow is centre back David Colvin, who has joined West Midlands League club Hinckley Athletic. Behind the scenes Coleshill's secretary Ron James has relinquished his duties and taking over as match secretary is Jack Lawler. Coleshill Town's social club is now open every evening and new members will be warmly welcomed. This Saturday Coleshill Town visit Solihull Borough with a 2.45pm Kick Off.
