Frank's First Win
Highgate recorded their first win under manager Frank O'Hare after nine games. But bottom placed Coleshill have presented little danger to any side this season. Highgate should have settled the game before half time, but most of their scoring chances found their way into the arms of goalkeeper Capper. The only period when Highgate were threatened occured on the half hour in the first half. First a shot by Dolphin worried keeper Pete Garnell. Then Garnell had to run off his line to hoof clear a through ball which Moseley was chasing. And Tim Holland should have scored when he ran clear only to shoot wide past Garnell. Highgate's first goal in the 53rd minute came from a penalty. Paul Hare was brought down on the left hand side of the box by John Allen, and Keith Avery made no mistake with the kick. A superbly executed goal ensured victory. Steve Whild won the ball on the right side of midfield and passed to Hare. Whild sliced through the defence for the return, cut into the area and crossed for Micky Calvert to side foot the ball home first time. Coleshill substituted Griffin for Moseley ten minutes from time, but could make no impression on the recently improved Highgate defence.
