Progress in Cup Easy For Coleshill

Fa Cup Extra Preliminary Round

Coleshill Town Assistant manager John Scott hailed his side's performance after they beat Bridgnorth Town 2-0 in the extra pre-lim round of the FA Cup.

Scott and manager Carl Adams are still rebuilding the side to which they returned over the summer and are happy with how the team is progressing.

"It was a thoroughly deserved win," said Scott. "The side performed really well and worked hard for one another."

Coleshill dominated the opening stages of the game at Pack Meadow against a nervous Bridgnorth side.

Despite having taken full control of proceedings, the home side were unable to find an opener until the stroke of half time.

A well taken finish by Adam Kinder on 44mins gave Coleshill a deserved lead going into the break and the visitors - having suffered two defeats in as many matches going into this game - failed to improve in the second period.

North Goalkeeper Darren Walters produced a string of smart saves to keep the Colemen at bay but the hosts continued to press.

Bridgnorth improved as the half wore on but with time running out the result was put beyond doubt by a second Coleshill goal, scored by Matty Robinson in the 85th min.

Coleshill face Causeway United in the next round of the competition.
