COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Two defeats signals poor week for Town
ANOTHER woeful first half performance cost Coleshill dear on Tuesday night.

Even though Jason Lanns made several changes to the starting line up, Coleshill failed to stop a very bright Dunkirk who took an early lead and then extended their advantage before half time.

Coleshill continued their poor performance until the introduction of Chris Lloyd as he at last started the Coleshill midfield to tick.

After 60 minutes there was a turn in momentum and Coleshill got themselves a life line through a wonder strike from Jack Moss and quickly followed that with a great strike from Lloyd as the team in green thought they had secured a good draw.

But that was not to be the case, though, as in the last minute Dunkirk got a rather fortunate free kick on the edge of the Coleshill penalty area and the resulting shot beat everyone to nestle into the bottom corner of the Coleshill goal.

REPORT
Once again our new keeper's first touch of the game was to pick the ball out of the net, oh how he would love some time to settle in! Dunkirk were very impressive in the first half. They went ahead with a stunning volley following a corner after only 2 minutes through Nick Hawkins but time and time again they sythed open Coleshill's defence with power, pace and some scintallating football, no more so than when they increased their lead before the break with a counter attacking move that left Jamie Austin with a tap in at the far post. At this point there looked no way back for Coleshill and it could have been worse as early in the second half the visitors were awarded a very generous penalty when Joe Lyng was adjudged to have handled as he attempted to block a shot. Sheridan Martinez finally had a chance to show what he has got and he made a fine save from the spot kick. Town's Jeckyl and Hyde season continued as they challenged far better in the second half and got a bit of luck to get back into the game. Jack Moss threw in a cross come shot from wide right and the keeper misjudged the flight and saw the ball sail over his head into the net. A couple of substitutions later and Coleshill looked a different team and when Chris Lloyd shot through a sea of legs to find the net it was game on. Danny Carter had a chance to win the game but his attempted chip fell kindly into the keepers arms and then Dunkirk's No7 saw a rasping goalbound effort hit Lyng in the back. But that's where Coleshill's luck ran out. The referee gave a generous free kick to Dunkirk in the dying minutes, a 50-50 challenge that could have gone either way, Richard Wyman stepped up from close on 30 yards and hit a low sweetly struck shot that by-past everyone including the dive of Martinez and snuggled into the net. Heartbreak for Coleshill!

It's going to be a long hard season for new manager Jason Lanns who needs to quickly figure out what is his best team but more important than that is his charges need to produce for 90 minutes and not just when they are a goal or two down!
