THREE GOAL BLAST SHOCKS ALBION
After three successive Skol Midland Combination League victories, Albion came down to earth on Tuesday evening, when they lost 3-0 at Coleshill. Unfortunately for the Albion, Coleshill are one of the majority of the teams in the Combination Premier Division without floodlights, (the were erected in 1997) and forced to kick off at 6.15pm after a lengthy journey, and were without five first team squad players, and were clearly at a disadvantage with a much changed and weakened side. The Albion included two players, Simon Daykin and Nigel Elliot, borrowed from Derby County, and three reserves, Lee Gibson, Phil Gleadall and Roger Smith. Albion had their best periods of control in the first half but failed to take advantage of a number of chances created. David Gore created a chance for himself dribbling through the defence, but lost the ball when challenged by the keeper. David King had a header blocked by the keeper and later put over the bar from a Robbie Wetton pass. Glyn Stacey was also prominent twice going close as Shepshed looked to have something in hand over their hosts. Everything changed in the second half following the award of a controversial penalty to Coleshill in the 63rd minute. Albion keeper Sanders clearly won the ball in a challenge, and everyone was astounded when the Referee awarded a penalty, which was converted. After Wetton had shot wide for Shepshed, Coleshill began to get on top and Amory added a second goal in the 67th minute, before Wilson clinched the points in the 83rd minute with a third goal. At the other end Stacey went close for Albion and a King header was fingertipped over the bar by the keeper. Albion will be hoping to return to the winning trail this weekend when they have two home League games.

UNKNOWN PUBLICATION
Albion's successful start to the season ended last night, beaten by a side that had failed to score in their previous three games. Manager Mark O'Kane was forced to field a much changed side with five of his regular squad not available, including three of the back four. Shepshed monopolised the first half but fell apart after a decision against goalkeeper Nick Sanders gave Burn (Byrne) a 63rd minute penalty. Amory scored from 30 yards four minutes later and Wilson sealed the points.
