Moors increased their lead to three points with a 3-1 victory in mid-week against lowly Coleshill Town.

SOLIHULL NEWS WROTE
Moor Green maintained their lead at the top of the Midland Combination with a convincing home win on Tuesday night. And for Moors it was a welcome return to winning form after last Saturday's disappointing draw. Moors are now three points clear at the top of the Midland Combination's First Division table with one game in hand over second placed Bridgnorth. But the Moor Green team showed signs of nervousness in the first half and it took a goal from Chris Cotton seconds before the interval to settle them down. Cotton scored the all important first goal after a brilliant solo run and Coleshill were left struggling. Moors relaxed after the interval and top scorer Mark Holloway made it 2-0 in the 60th minute after a good pass by Cotton. It was Moor Green's 100th goal of the season and they looked well in control against a Coleshill side struggling to avoid relegation. Holloway added a third just five minutes from the end to take his tally to 28 in all competitions and 20 in the Combination. Braddock had made the third goal possible with a fierce drive which the Coleshill keeper failed to hold. Moors have now gone 17 league and cup matches without defeat but they know they have to continue in the winning trail to prevent Bridgnorth from retaining the championship. Coleshill did manage a consolation goal right on full time when Rick Allen scored but Moors were never really threatened and ran out comfortable winners.

CHELMSLEY NEWS WROTE
Still hoping to avoid the drop into the Second Division of the Midland Combination, bottom of the table Coleshill went down 3-1 to leaders Moor Green in midweek. In the match at the Moorlands manager Mel Strong dropped defender Shaun Tymon and midfield player Michael Cook, replacing them with newcomers Eammon O'Loughlin (Sheldon Promovere) and Mike Ryan (Solihull Borough) With points vital for both clubs the atmosphere was tense throughout the first half and Coleshill made Moors struggle but a goal from Cotton seconds before the interval turned the scales in favour of the homesters. Holloway made it 2-0 in the 60th minute and the same player netted again five minutes from the end. Coleshill managed a consolation goal - the best of the match - right on full time, through Ricky Allen.

Coleshill Town's battle against relegation in the Midland Combination continues this Saturday when they receive Solihull Borough at Pack Meadow. A fortnight ago Borough beat Coleshill 5-1. Next Tuesday Coleshill visit Boldmere St Michaels and then two days later, on Thursday evening, they are at home to Walsall Wood. Title chasers Chipping Norton Town are Coleshill's visitors on Saturday April 11th and on April 14th the hectic run-in continues with Coleshill away to Hurley Daw Mill. There is another away game for the pack Meadow men on Saturday April 18th, when they visit Racing Club Warwick and the following Thursday they receive Highgate United. Saturday May 2nd sees Coleshill away to Oldbury United and their remaining games are Cinderford away May 9th, Evesham United Home May 14th and Bridgnorth Town Home May 16th.
