TAMWORTH (Coleshill) HERALD
Paul Skills Give Town Goal Boost

Ian Paul, forced out of the Football League with a knee injury is making his mark on the Midland Combination. On Saturday he helped Coleshill Town to victory over bottom of the table Knowle North Star scoring two of the goals and making another. The only blemish on his performance was a missed penalty. Knowle went ahead in the first minute with a goal from Hayes. Coleshill's equaliser came direct from a free kick blasted in by Roy Nicholas from 20 yards. The ball went round the badly positioned defensive wall and flew into the top corner. It was Ian Paul who put Coleshill ahead in the 16th minute with a brilliant solo effort. He waltzed around two defenders before slotting the ball home. Ian Paul demonstrated his skill on the difficult surface to help Town to a two goal lead. He penetrated the home defence with a tantalising run and finished it off with a shot which was stopped on the goal line. After a scramble Victor Hollier forced the ball home. With a two goal cushion the Coleshill defence relaxed a little and payed the penalty. Knowle got back on terms with goals from Bailey and Fellows and Coleshill had to do it all again. When Town were awarded a penalty, Ian Paul brought a great save from Morris causing him to dive to the right and take the ball just inside the post. Substitute Terry Smith made the winner in the 77th minute. He ran at the home defence down the left flank and then crossed for Ian Paul to head home.

Coleshill Unchanged For Polesworth Clash

Coleshill Town will field an unchanged side against Polesworth this Saturday. The only proviso is that there were no injuries in the Boxing Day friendly against Oldbury. Manager Keith Shrimpton is hoping to come away from Polesworth with at least a point. With two successive victories there is a new spirit around Pack Meadow. The major factor in Coleshill's mini revival is the form of new boy Ian Paul. Since coming into the side Paul has averaged a goal a game. This side (above) is the best line up possible with the resources available. It's now a matter of developing understanding and team work. The more they play together, the better they will be," said a happy Shrimpton.
