SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
A second half penalty from Coleshill keeper Paul Hathaway earned the visitors a hard earned victory in their Central Division One clash. Berkhamsted had the first of the chances when Ashley Morrisey skied a shot from inside the area while the pick of Coleshill's early efforts was a Liam Molesworth cross drifting past the far post. Hathaway was called into action to save from Will Summerfield and a Morrisey shot was deflected for a corner. The only goal of the game came six minutes into the second half when, from a Coleshill free kick, George Washbourne picked out Josh Webb and when he was fouled inside the 18 yard area, Hathaway duly fired in the spot kick. Hathaway was also in the thick of things at the other end, tipping away a Dan Murphy free kick before striker Matt Bateman went close.
THE NON-LEAGUE PAPER WROTE
Goalkeeper Paul Hathaway was the hero of the day for Coleshill Town as he scored a penalty to secure a surprise 1-0 win away to Berkhamsted. Steve Bateman's side were strong favourites at Broadwater to claim a fifth win in their last six league matches, but it proved to be a frustrating afternoon for them as Hathaway pulled out a couple of fine saves to keep the game goalless at half time. By contrast the visitors took heart from an uneventful opening 45 minutes, and within five minutes of the restart they found the breakthrough from the unlikeliest of sources. Hathaway had never scored for Coleshill before but he was chosen to take the spot-kick they were awarded after 49 minutes, and the keeper did not fluff his lines from 12 yards. Berkhamsted pushed hard to find an equaliser but Cameron Stuart's men held on to move up six places and into the top half of the table.
MATCH REPORT
Manager Cameron Stuart's squad was stretched to the limit. To top the departure of Rob Evans and Joe Cole, Danny Tymon and Ryan Edmunds were suspended and Reece Leek and Tony Clarke were both injured. Town's bench was made up of teenagers including Kyle Hayden on a month's loan from Tamworth. Berkhamsted were in 5th place and although they had lost two league games this season, their last defeat was way back on 1st September.
In a game of few chances and little quality Coleshill grafted to a much needed three points. A first half of few chances unsurprisingly ended goalless. Ashley Morrisey for the home side skied a shot from in the box. Liam Molesworth and Connor Doyle combined from a short free kick but Molesworth’s cross avoided everyone including the far post. Paul Hathaway saved well from Will Summerfield and Liam Molesworth dragged a shot wide from a good position. Morrisey was denied when his goalbound shot hit a defender and went for a corner. Liam Molesworth headed a Craig Deakin cross wide and Molesworth was back with a shot that keeper Daley saved. The Comrades main danger man Bateman shot over the bar then had his next effort saved by Hathaway. A Craig Deakin cross was met by a diving header from Joe Smith that went wide and Morrisey had the last chance of the half, shooting over from a great position.
The few chances that came for the home side kept falling to Morrisey but luckily his shooting was wayward as he sent an early second half effort over the bar. Coleshill were awarded a free kick as keeper Luke Daley caught a long ball outside the box. Liam Molesworth hit the kick straight into the wall but George Washbourne recycled the ball finding Josh Webb right side of the box and he went down under the challenge of Murphy. With normal penalty takers Leek and Edmunds unavailable up stepped keeper Paul Hathaway. Now Hathaway is well used to taking, scoring and saving penalty kicks in Shoot-Outs but had never taken one in a league game. So on 51 minutes, in his 280th appearance, Hathaway scored his first goal for Coleshill. Town almost increased their lead when George Washbourne sent Connor Doyle clear in the box but his left foot shot hit the side netting. Keeper Paul Hathaway tipped away a free kick from Daniel Murphy, Morrisey shot over the bar again and Matt Bateman held the ball up well before sending a bending left foot shot just past the far post. Coleshill were denied a second by the woodwork when George Washbourne's shot came back off the post but chances remained at a premium and Coleshill stubbornly saw the game out.

Berkhamsted's Unbeaten Run Comes To An End
By Phil Hobbs
Berkhamsted slipped to their first league defeat in 6 games as Coleshill keeper Paul Hathaway scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot to leave with all three points.
Report by Dean Bradford
After an even first half an hour, Berko's Ashley Morrissey went closest in the 1st half when his skilful run and shot was deflected just over by Coleshill man of the match Matt Jackson.
The games defining moment came on 51 minutes when Berko captain Danny Murphy needlessly went to ground in the area to give away a clear penalty. Coleshill goalkeeper Hathaway went the length of the pitch to convert past Berko keeper Luke Daley.
Despite much Berko pressure, Coleshill held on for 3 valuable away points to take back to the West Midlands.
