Coleshill Town kept up the heat on the top six as a 1-0 win at second bottom Kidlington leaves them just one point shy of the play-off places, George Washbourne scoring the all important goal for the visitors.

Coleshill took the points at Kidlington with a goal from the returning George Washbourne on 67 minutes. The Greens, despite being in a relegation position, were in a run of fine form having won two, drawn two and lost just one of their last five matches including a very creditable point at AFC Dunstable last week. In truth the game was a scrappy affair on a bumpy pitch, the wind and the slope also contributing to a less than classic encounter. Kidlington's main threat came from a long throw expert and Town keeper Paul Hathaway, making his 300th appearance, had to make one outstanding save. Coleshill had one or two half chances but both defences were in charge and difficult to break down. The only goal of the game came from probably the best passage of play in the game allowing Washbourne a one on one with the keeper and his early shot found the back of the net. Tempers flared in the closing stages but Coleshill dug deep and just about deserved the points in a very hard fought game.
