Vincent Spot On At The Death
Coleshill Town and Barton Rovers opened their season with an exciting draw. It was the visitors who came out of the blocks quicker taking the lead through Victor Osubu's deft flick after ten minutes. But some woeful defending allowed Coleshill to level things up on the half hour mark via Liam Molesworth. And it was Molesworth who turned the scoreline on it's head by netting his second of the game just before half time to send the hosts in leading. Coleshill looked like they were going to hang on until the end but gave away a penalty in the last minute of the game which allowed Connor Vincent to step up and grab a late point for his side.
Star Man: Liam Molesworth.

The first action saw Joe Smith cross from the right for Coleshill but missed by Luke Keen at far post. Keen again had another chance from a Liam Molesworth pass but visiting keeper Gould saved. Then against the run of play Barton took the lead as Osobu got to a long free kick to beat Brandon Ganley in Coleshill goal. Coleshill rallied and Luke Keen had another chance saved. Then a ball was played to Keen who beat a defender, rounded the keeper and played in Liam Molesworth to score. Then a Barton corner was missed by Ganley but the effort was cleared off the line. Just before half time Coleshill won the ball in midfield and Liam Molesworth held off the defender to score.
2-1 half time.
Coleshill were on top for most of the second half but could not beat a hard working Rovers defence. Both sides had chances but it was left to a last minute penalty for Barton to score and the game ended 2-2.
