SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Coleshill Town gained their first home point of the season after a keenly contested encounter at the Pack Meadow ground. Coleshill took the lead in the eighth minute when a cross from Cash was knocked back to Cooke for veteran striker Cotton to score from close range. Tragedy struck the home side twenty minutes later when a cross from Foggarty was turned into his own net by Bennett. Coleshill came back in the 47th minute and Brady took a high ball in his stride but keeper Davison made a brave save at his feet. Brady then skimmed the Police bar following a cross from Cooke and in the closing stages Small beat Seaton but Houghton, in the Coleshill goal, made a good recovery to thwart the Police attack.

TAMWORTH HERALD WROTE
After recording their first midweek victory of the season, a 3-2 success at Northfield, Coleshill started this game in confident style. Coleshill began the game with three new signings, ex Halesowen keeper Darrel Houghton, Solihull left back Chris Seaton and new forward Paul Jones. They started brightly and within eight minutes Coleshill went ahead trough Rory Cash who had scored a superb midweek hat trick, put over a cross from the wing, the keeper misjudged it and Colin Cooke was on hand to slip to Chris Cotton to score. The Police were on the scoresheet on the half hour when Greg Bennett tragically scored an own goal, a tragedy heightened by the fact that this goal apart, Bennett had had an excellent game. The second half was largely dominated by the defences. Coleshill's centre forward, 19 year old Jamie Harden, showed tight marking and continues to improve with every game. On top of this all of the Coleshill new boys impressed and it was generally a satisfactory day for the Coleshill boys.
