CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
UNLUCKY COLESHILL HIT BY INJURIES

Injuries to Peter Dawkins and Martin McGreevey did not help Coleshill's cause at Solihull and to rub "salt into the wound" it was former Town player John Rossiter who scored both goals. Coleshill's manager David Kite has fumed over the harsh treatment being handed out to Dawkins in recent games and last Saturday's game was no exemption with the former Atherstone and Nuneaton player being "hacked down" in the first 15 minutes. "Why the referee did not take action against the offending player I will never know" said Kite. Asit was Dawkins was left virtually a passenger for the rest of the game. Solihull took an early lead when Alcock stepped over a cross from Taylor and Newey set up a chance for Rossiter to net with a well placed low shot. But Coleshill showed plenty of determination and with their midfield players, Allen, Hardie and Komoroski working hard they settled down to gain territorial advantage. Paul Montague was extremely unlucky to see a tremendous 30 yard shot strike the cross-bar and then Johnny Allen had a fine shot tipped onto the woodwork by home keeper Whelan. An indirect free kick gave Coleshill another chance to storm the Solihull goal and Whelan did well to save a Montague header. Coleshill appeared to be getting on top despite the injury to Dawkins, but when full back Martin McGreevy was also in the wars their task became far more difficult. Centre back Harry Burrows excelled in the heart of Coleshill's defence keeping a tight reign on experienced Mick Keeley but 11 minutes from the end Rossiter rounded keeper Goulden before slotting in Solihull's second goal. Manager Kite is still having talks with former Scottish League player John Barnes and he is also hoping to sign another forward in time for Coleshill's home game with Paget Rangers this Saturday. New officials at Coleshill are Ron Griffiths (Secretary) and Jack Lawler (Match Secretary).
